Occupation:
     Date:   1851
     Place:   Butcher

Residence:
     Date:   1851
Place:   Tennant Street, Stranton, Co. Durham, UK

Individual Note:
The data here is uncertain as it may be for *two* Jacob Allison born 1 to 2 years apart in Easington Durham. The Christening date of 1818 does not jive with all the later Census records which give a DOB of Apr 1820 to Mar 1821. However church birth records on the LDS IGI for Easington seem complete and do not list another Jacob Allison. Also, in 1881 Census his age changes by 2 years - to give a perfect match of Apr 1818 to Mar 1819.

This lady believes that a relative John Allison had a father Jacob Allison. Since Jacob Allison is a rare name, they could be the same - however birthplace appears to be Middleton-in-Teesdale, I think I've seen other Allison there.

Dear Michael,
Thank you so much for the info.
i will keeep hold of it - incase it turns out to be the right Jacob Allison.

My John Allison was in Dipton in 1901, birthplace not known.
1891 Oakenshaw Durham. birthplace Teesdale.
1881 23 Beason, Collierley. birthplace Midd Teesdale.
1870 Peases Row Southchurch.
I have checked out durham Records online still not found my John in 1861-51. If your main family are fron Teesdale then maybe there is a link to my John Allison.

Thanks again Cheryl.

Hi Michael While searching for a John Allison, born Durham, I came across the family of Jacob and Mary A Allison who I think you refer to in your entries.
I would certainly like to fit John into the list between Ann and Henry Allison but the evidence is too flimsy.

Anyway, did you notice the birthdates of William, Nena and Eva Allison.
They were all of the same age all the way through the census of 1871, 1881 and 1891. Triplets? If you want the information which is not of much use to me except that maybe the family are related to the elusive John Allison, please feel free to get in touch.

Oh by the way, the Charles you refer to was baptised Charles Shepherd Allison, Shepherd seemingly being the maiden name of Mary Ann Allison. Married Stockton June 1848. Good luck with your search, Fred Wright (London) fredwright444@@hotmail.com.
